I’m Guy, the owner and creator of Brisbane Street Games. I’m usually hanging out at Reddacliff Place in a tie and hat, waiting for Police recruits, Spies and wizards! After nearly two years of operating, it’s time to find out a bit more about me and Brisbane Street Games.
Why did you start Brisbane Street Games?
Brisbane is a great city with plenty of things to see and do. I wanted to showcase parts of the city to visitors and locals, but in a fun and interesting way. Each of challenges use parts of the city for clues. It could be the buildings themselves or the history plaques scattered throughout the city.
How do you take your coffee?
I do like a good Piccolo. So if you are ever feeling like you want to bring me a coffee before your game, I won't say no :)
How long did it take to create a game?
Each of the themed games takes approximately 3 months to create. From scouting locations, developing a story, creating all the challenges, testing the games and taking photographs, it’s a long and rewarding experience once it all comes together.
What do you think makes Brisbane Street Games stand out?
Brisbane Street Games is a unique activity in Brisbane. It is similar to an outdoor escape room, but you are not trapped in a room for an hour. You have two hours to explore Brisbane with friends and family whilst reconnecting and catching up.
What do you love about your work?
My mission is to connect friends and family whilst discovering parts of Brisbane like you have never before. It is really satisfying when players come back at the end of their game with smiles on their face and say just how much they loved playing it!
Where do you see Brisbane Street Games going in the future?
At the moment, it’s just myself running the business and the games. This year, I’m hoping to hire a game operator. So if you are interested, please send an email to email@example.com
I hope to see you on a game sometime soon!
